Design: Jason Slabbynck i.c.w. MAZE
The crystal cube is an abstract representation of a diamond crystal, which consist of cubic unit cells stacked together to produce an octahedron. This object was used as the centerpiece of a music video by MAZE. It’s 1,25m in section and made out of 72 sides of plexi, 304 L-profiles and 608 bolts and nuts. A geometric pattern was made on the floor with black tape to emphasize the stacking of cubes. By hanging black drapes the room loses its physical feeling and draws all the attention back to the crystal cube and floor pattern.
