How can we contribute to a more sustainable and adaptable city, what could be the role of architecture in this process and how do we introduce time into urban projects? We propose the idea of infiltration. Making our cities more sustainable and adaptable won’t happen overnight. Just like infiltration, it’s a slow, but important process. Rather than only solving today’s problems we need to create a positive structure for the future. These ideas, these changes also need time to infiltrate into the our daily life, become part of our environment in the broadest sense. Good architecture has the possibility to survives its own time, when it’s has an open ended structure that provides other options for the future. When it can be used, re-used and even abused in a positive way. Infiltrate is about having a two way communication, between create and use, between today and tomorrow, between revolution and transition..
